BIA 101 - a method for examination
of the human body metabolism

Description

  • This method gives us information about:
    • the quantity of the fats (free and bound)
    • the muscle mass in % or kilograms
    • the total quantity of the water in the body
    • the level of intracellular and extra cellular water
    • the ratio Na/K
    • the basic metabolism (daily energy needs)
  • Indicates the metabolism regulation mode when aiming body weight reduction and body fats disposal
  • The age is taken into consideration, which makes the method especially suitable when examining young people and women, because the hormonal changes are being reported
  • On the basis of the results gained, a “personal menu” is worked out.
The last is a balanced, individual food regime with a fixed ration between proteins, fats and carbohydrates
  • The advantages of the BIA 101 method to the ordinary lipometrics can be seen in table1

Application

  • With the professional sportsmen - without the data from this test all exercises are ineffective, because the high levels of intra- and extracellular water in the body lead only to tiredness and exhaustion by physical exercises
  • With people  doing fitness exercises, body shape modeling and body weight reduction - without the data from this test we are not able to prepare an individual nutrition regime and an individual activity programs

Results and analysis

  • Depending on the obtained results we determine:
    • Basic metabolism
    • what kind the metabolism is - carbohydrate type or protein type
    • personal menu
  • The method allows the indices of two or more tests to be traced in dynamic

Equipment

  • Mobile BIA 101 – the medical team of Prevent in collaboration with the trainers’ team applies the test/tests during the time of training. This way, we get most accurate information about the condition of the persons examined with no change in the training plan

Summary

  • In no way, the data given by the medical team of Prevent, and the interpretation of this data, do not oblige the trainers’ team to change its style of work. Our task is to provide most detailed information about the condition of the sportsman and to give our own assessment. All the rest is the trainer and his team’s decision
